I specialize in grad photos at the University of Tennessee. There are numerous spots around campus that are beautiful for grad photos. However, five spots are continually requested by seniors on campus. There’s no doubt that they are great choices for University of Tennessee grad photo locations.
If you’re a student at the University of Tennessee, you likely haven’t stepped on The Seal yet. Stepping on it prior to graduation is believed to be bad luck. This is why most wait until the end of their senior year to finally step into it. This location symbolizes upcoming graduation.
The Seal usually has the longest lines (sometimes nearing over an hour). It’s important to decide how important this location is to you to determine if the wait is worth it.

Ayres Hall is most popular for its historic stone building featuring a checkered floor along the Cumberland Street entrance. I have to admit that Ayres is one of my favorite University of Tennessee grad photo locations. You can get quite a bit of variety just in this one location. However, it’s worth noting that lines can get exceedingly longer as it gets closer to graduation.

The main reason to get photos down by the bridge is to capture the name of the university in your images. Many grads like to get images walking across the crosswalk with the sign behind them (as traffic allows). One advantage to this location is the potential for different angles.

Vols love to show off their pride with orange and white. The checkered crosswalks overlooking Neyland Stradium allow you to incorporate these colors without needing to wear them to show your school pride.

You can’t go wrong with the white columns along the Alumni Building. This is a beautiful spot that lends itself to the light and airy images. You’ll often find a dusting of confetti covering the floor which adds a pop of color.
