Missoula Senior Photo Locations

Senior photos can be uniquely tailored to match your idea of the perfect photoshoot. You will choose outfits, props, and locations to match your style. Missoula’s mountain landscapes and river views lend it to various Instagram-worthy grad photo spots. Here are the best Missoula senior photo locations for 2022 from a Missoula senior photographer.

Missoula senior photo location #1: Caras Park

Caras Park borders the Clark Fork River in downtown Missoula, MT. The walking trail overlooking the river is an ideal backdrop for senior pictures in addition to the brick-lined plaza. Keep in mind that you will need to pay for parking when visiting Caras Park.

Idea #2: Senior pictures at Missoula’s McCormick Park

If you’re looking for variety in your senior photos, McCormick Park is the place to go. Similar to Caras Park there is a walking trail along the river. However, you will also find a grassy field and Silver’s Lagoon a small tranquil fishing pond.

Location #3: Photos at Silver Park

Silver Park is found next to McCormick Park and is only a few minutes from downtown Missoula. Here there are a grassy field and picnic enclosures. You are bound to get some amazing photos here!

Location #4: Senior Pictures on the University of Montana’s campus

Calling all University of Montana students, senior pictures aren’t just for high school seniors. Images in your cap & gown on your college are a great way to remember your time on campus and celebrate your accomplishment. This has been your home for the last few years. Graduation photos are also perfect for photos with your college besties!

Location #5: Missoula high school campus

For Missoula high school students, I highly recommend doing some photos at your school. Incorporating the hobbies and sports you have been involved in over the past 4 years is perfect with your school as the backdrop. Although you go to school every day, I can guarantee that it will look different through the lens of your photographer.

Planning Missoula senior pictures

For high school students, I recommend doing photos in your junior year or the beginning of your senior year. Images are usually due around October or November for the yearbook. Alternatively, for college students, it’s most common to do senior pictures and grad photos at the same time, in the month leading up to graduation. Reach out to a photographer soon to schedule your photos.
