Emory and her best friend McKenna scheduled a combined UTK graduation photoshoot. Emory wanted to emphasize the light, bright backgrounds in her photos. This was music to my ears! I love light and airy images. One of the key components to achieving these images as a photographer is a lighter background. When combined with glowy lighting, the photos look amazing and have a softer style. I shared a tip for grads who don’t want to wait in line for the very busy Seal for photos. The recommendation was to get photos at the seal next to Haslam. In my opinion, the background is even better and nobody really can tell the difference in your photos. Emory saw this suggestion and wanted to implement it into her own session with the pedestrian walkway in the background. The Seal is a popular spot, but it does have a tendency to have a darker feel in images and cast shadows on grads. To some it’s worth it due to the common avoidance of it until near graduation.
