Olivia’s spring grad photo session was the perfect mix of weather. We started off her photoshoot up at Ayres Hall on the University of Tennessee campus with an overcast sky. Contrary to what most believe, this is actual beautiful in photos. It creates more location opportunities. When the sun is shining bright in the sky, you’ll see more shadows. I strategically position clients so that the sun is most flattering on their face. On a cloudy day, there is greater flexibility for more angles. This was especially helpful at the checkered crosswalk in front of Neyland Stadium. Often it’s hard to get images here in the evening because the background can become too overexposed and it’s difficult to see the stadium in the background. However, this weather worked to our advantage.
Then, by the time we moved to Circle Park, the sun poked out and gave us some beautiful glow. Not only was the weather on our side, but the lines too! I couldn’t believe that we didn’t have lines. You can’t predict when this will happen. However, when it does you have to take full advantage of it. This allowed us to fit in another location on campus.

I’m so happy the sun came out for this glow!

The magic of an overcast sky really makes a difference in images.

Is it really a Seal grad photo without a champagne pop?
