Golden Hour Wedding Photos

Trust me, you don’t want to miss this part of your wedding day. Golden hour is the magical time of day when you get soft, glowy images as husband and wife. These beautiful photos are all about timing! Your timeline must allow enough time for golden hour wedding photos after your ceremony. As your photographer, I will be scoping out spots with the best lighting and backgrounds.

Remember, that if you don’t plan to do a first look, all of the bridal party images and family photos will be directly after the ceremony. Don’t cut it too close to the end of your ceremony and sunset. Your planner can keep a spot on your timeline for these images. If you’re not working with a planner, speak with your photographer about your timeline and how much time is needed. Once the sun has set, you’ve missed your chance for glowy photos.

Even if your wedding day is overcast, there is still a chance for glow. However, you will still get gorgeous images at this time as a newly married couple regardless. I have even experienced a rainy day wedding that cleared up in the evening for soft sunlight. You never know what is going to happen. That’s why I always recommend a first look. That way if the weather changes, you still have portraits on your wedding day.
