How To Create A Mood Board For Branding Photos

When it comes to your brand, you are the expert. It’s important to clearly communicate with your photographer what your goals are to effectively plan your photoshoot. When your photographer knows your vision they can better match your brand’s unique personality. I suggest creating a mood board using Pinterest. I have a few tips for how to create a mood board for branding photos.

It’s important to note that the goal of the mood board is not for the photographer to copy each image. Instead, it is to show the style of images you’re drawn to and get inspiration from. Happy pinning!

Tip #1: Determine the aesthetic of your brand

Is your brand minimalist, colorful, monochromatic, or whimsical? Brainstorm words that you would associate with your brand. Then, keep these ideas in mind when finding inspiration for your mood board. The whole point of your brand photoshoot is to communicate what makes your brand unique.

Tip #2: Image uses

There are several different ways that you can go with personal branding photos. For instance, lifestyle images, flat lays with tools of the trade, headshots, and your workspace. What images are you set on capturing during your photoshoot?
