When it comes to your brand, you are the expert. It’s important to clearly communicate with your photographer what your goals are to effectively plan your photoshoot. When your photographer knows your vision they can better match your brand’s unique personality. I suggest creating a mood board using Pinterest. I have a few tips for how to create a mood board for branding photos.
It’s important to note that the goal of the mood board is not for the photographer to copy each image. Instead, it is to show the style of images you’re drawn to and get inspiration from. Happy pinning!
Is your brand minimalist, colorful, monochromatic, or whimsical? Brainstorm words that you would associate with your brand. Then, keep these ideas in mind when finding inspiration for your mood board. The whole point of your brand photoshoot is to communicate what makes your brand unique.
Where will you be using your images? Will they be used to promote a specific product or service, to go along with a specific blog post, or at the top of your home page? You can find more examples here.
There are several different ways that you can go with personal branding photos. For instance, lifestyle images, flat lays with tools of the trade, headshots, and your workspace. What images are you set on capturing during your photoshoot?
Is it just me, or do you enjoy pinning outfit ideas too? Pinterest is the perfect place to get some outfit inspo for your next branding photoshoot. Create a mood board with clothing ideas. I highly recommend staying true to your own style for photos, to stay more authentic to your brand.
